Having Leah as my doula was the best decision I could have made regarding my labor and delivery. I had my first baby back in May of 2021, and it was a long 34 hour labor. Leah was by my side for probably almost 30 of those hours. She helped make sure I was as comfortable as I could be, and was there with anything i could have possibly needed. Her pain management care was so helpful, and she even helped teach my husband ways to help with the pain and counter pressure! Her extensive knowledge on essential oils and how to use/diffuse them was very beneficial.
My original plan was to have an unmedicated birth, but unfortunately with how long and exhausting labor was, it didn’t end up that way and I got the epidural 24 hours in. But, Leah supported my decision and helped me not feel bad about things not going the way I had planned.
She advocated for me with the nurses and doctors about things I did or didn’t want to happen, and even helped save me from getting a c section with her knowledge on positioning to help me finish dilating!
She was an amazing coach when it came time to pushing, and she captured amazing pictures that I will be able to cherish forever of my sweet boy entering this world! I would not have made it through that birth without her, and I will 100% have her at all my future births! I highly recommend having Leah as your doula, you will not regret it!

We met Leah by God’s Grace and timing! We were Leah’s very first clients as she was still taking doula courses when our daughter was due. However, Leah was well trained, attentive, helpful, encouraging and ready for the birth, you would not have expected us to be her first clients.
Leah met all of our needs and was there for us every step of the way. We officially hired at about 33 weeks pregnant due to covid restrictions in the hospitals and having a previous csection we wanted a natural birth and needed our voices to be heard so we decide to hire a doula. Our main goal was to have a vaginal delivery for our 2nd birth, and that goal was achieved thanks to the help of Leah.
Although our birth did not go exactly as planned we achieved our biggest goal of having a vaginal delivery. I labored on and off at home from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, Leah gave many suggestions such a positions, pressure point, and oils to relieve back labor. She guided my husband on how to help me, hold me and encourage me through the whole process. Leah definitely came prepared with all of her massage equipment from oils to tennis balls and the peanut ball!
When contractions died down twice, she suggested to try pumping/nipple stimulation, which cause contractions to pick up again and get things moving. Any time I stopped moving or took a break my body decided it was no longer time to contract, so she kept me moving.
Upon arrival to the hospital she waited patiently until they would allow our 2nd person in the room. We were thankful they allowed a 2nd person in l&d at the time due to all the restrictions. Labor was long and painful, after a long night and not progressing past 3cm we opted for an epidural and Pitocin. I believe due to the stress of the hospital setting prolong my labor for sure.
Monday morning (the day our daughter was born), Leah hunted down the midwife that delivered her daughter and introduced us and told the midwife the goal for the day (getting our daughter through a vaginal delivery). Leah continued to supply us with support, words of affirmation, oils for softening the birth canal to lesson the chance of tearing. She encouraged and showed my husband on how to be supportive during actual delivery and talk to me through the pain. Leah also wanted to make sure she was not over stepping any boundaries and checking in with us if she felt something was going the wrong way. If a doctor or nurse was doing something that seemed “fishy” she alerted my attention to them. During the delivery process Leah spoke encouraging words to my self and my husband. Once our daughter was born Leah gave direction to the doctor again, stopping the cord cutting, and placing Zoey on my chest, Leah also saved my placenta (we had not talked about it prior to birth, just one of those things we missed), from being tossed out.
Unfortunately my daughter and I got separated shortly after birth due to her having breathing troubles, however my husband was able to go with our daughter with out fear of me being left alone, Leah stayed with me until I was on the ambulance to rejoin my daughter at university hospitals main campus. Those 4/5 hours of separation Leah kept me sane and switched with my husband if we needed to make a medical decision together. So neither Zoey or myself were ever left alone. Having Leah be our extra eyes and ears were extremely important in that time.
Leah helped us achieve our biggest goal of having a vaginal delivery after a csection 4.5 years ago. Being Leah’s first patient, I did not expect Leah to be perfect or know every single thing, however her knowledge on birth and tools to use for birth was excellent. We are now expecting our 3rd earthed child in June and we will be using Leah again as our doula! Leah’s knowledge on child birth and how our bodies are supposed to work has grown tremendously over the course of her studies. God simply designed our bodies to have these precious little babies, and God designed Leah and gave Leah the knowledge on how to help us get our babies her safety and peaceful!

Hiring Leah was the best decision we made. The emotional support provided on the day of labor was invaluable. She really guided us along the way when it came to having conversations with the Dr.’s. The pain management she provided was also a huge help. My husband also felt she was a huge support for him as well. This was our first child so we both didn’t know what to expect. Having someone like Leah through the whole process really calmed our nerves.

Leah is so kind and truly cares about her clients every step of the way. She made a point from the very initial consultation to get to know me and my husband, and our vision for my birth. She would check in on me every now and then to see how my pregnancy was going, if I hadn’t reached out to her in a while, which made me feel very well cared for!

Where to even begin…
I knew I wanted leah from the moment I stumbled upon her beautifully layed out website. I was very determined to have a faith focused labor and delivery which made Leah my top pick, but out of precaution I wanted to make sure that our personalities would work well together.
After a phone interview I was convinced that Leah could work well with anyone! She is the definition of what a doula should be and is able to help you plan and perform your ideal labor and delivery. She went above and beyond what would be required of her. As I labored for 72 hours, having her constantly encourage me and reassure me from start to finish significantly helped me mentally and emotionally. At the birthing center, Leah made it feel like home. She had the lights dimmed, music playing, essential oils running, and she read me encouraging statements. She became soaked as she allowed me to lean and labor on her after getting in and out of the tub multiple different times. (I probably got in and out of the tub 10-15 times) She followed me all over the room as I tried to find the most comfortable position. During transition as I was getting discouraged feeing as though there was no progress, it was Leah’s idea to change positions to open my hips and THAT is what allowed my water to break and within 10 minutes I had given birth to our beautiful son. When I say I couldn’t have done this without Leah I truly mean it!
After birth I was encouraged to take pictocin for my hemorrhage and she provided alternatives and proceeded to be an advocate to give me time to discern what I wanted to do. As if this wasn’t enough, she took pictures during the labor and delivery which I will cherish forever.
Choose Leah and you will be forever grateful that you did!
